Food Preparation

The ebook tells you what to eat, and gives you some basic preparation tips, but it didn’t really go into detail on where to get the stuff or how to cook stuff so it tastes good. Here are some of my tips if you attempt this.

Scrambled Eggs

I didn’t want to use too much oil so I use spray on low fat olive oil on a non stick skillet. Separate the whites and the yolks and scramble them separately. Then mix them together. Add a little splash of low fat milk. This makes the eggs really fluffy and more appetizing considering I use no salt. A little black pepper adds a little kick.

Nuts

The diet calls for Cashews, Walnuts, and Macadamia Nuts. You can find unsalted nuts in any farmer’s market or at Whole Foods.

Seafood

There are an assortment of seafood including Sea Bass, Halibut, and Shrimp. Because fish doesn’t keep well in the freezer and you have to cook it right away, I usually just went to the market the night before the days I had to eat fish. It’s a better way to have fresher fish when you cook it.  I always try to make the fish the night before. I had no meat or chicken in my diet partly because I have been trying to be vegetarian. I allow myself to eat fish as part of my diet now.

Fruit

Apples keep for a while, I bough a bag of apples on day one and I pretty much finished them but it lasted almost a week. Grapes, Strawberries and other soft fruits last or 2-3 days so buy these only when needed.

Vegetables

Most of the vegetables I used for my diet were frozen. I bought all of them day one and just took out the packages from the freezer the day I needed them.

Food Containers

I bought some nifty food containers from Ikea for 6 bucks, it had about 17 storage bins in all different sizes. I highly recommend getting different sized storage containers for your meals. This allows you to portion everything and have containers for food throughout the day. Its good to know that you have all your food prepared for the entire day and you don’t have to think about where to get your next meal.

Food Preparation

Its good to do most of the cooking the night before. You can always reheat the food when you need to eat it. Things that aren’t as hard to prepare, such as fruit and nuts, I usually make first thing in the morning before I get ready for work.
